Join us December 14, 2023 at 7pm for Dare2Dialogue: a forum for deep discussion on serious issues.
People don’t talk to each other any more. We live in a world of sound bites and opinions. People don’t sit down and discuss things in depth anymore. What if there was a place to dig deeper into the issues we face today? At the Saint John Leadership Institute, we are offering that opportunity. So, we invite you to attend this dialogue if you dare!
Topic: Loving the Homeless, What’s a Catholic to Do?
We have a homeless problem in Denver but we do have services. We have Christ in the City. We have Step Denver. We have Samaritan House. We have Denver Rescue Mission. As Catholics we are called to provide shelter to the homeless and food for the hungry, but what is the best way to serve?
This evening’s agenda will include viewing “Homeless but Human”, a 40-minute documentary produced by Christ in the City. We will watch the documentary and then we will have a panel discussion with Eduardo Real, Executive Director of Christ in the City, and Darren Walsh, CEO of Catholic Charities.
Patty McKernan will moderate this discussion. There will be 20 minutes of dialogue between the panelists and moderator, 30 minutes for audience Q&A, and 30 minutes of fellowship and refreshments at the end. Free will offering will be accepted for this event. Seating is limited to 20 people.
