This is the excerpt. I love football and long for the days when the players were loyal to the team, they dressed well, and the spoke respectfully.  So much of that has been lost in the culture today of edginess, aggressiveness, and shock value.

I love football and long for the days when the players were loyal to the team, they dressed well, and the spoke respectfully.  So much of that has been lost in the culture today of edginess, aggressiveness, and shock value.  When the Denver Broncos went to their first Super Bowl in 1977, we had a defense called The Orange Crush.  Not too long ago, I could accurately name every starting player, their position, and their number.  Those days are long over and it does make me think of the “good old days”.

Well, here we are, approaching Super Bowl LVI, and the half time shows have eclipsed any rawness that has crept into the players’ dress and language.  It seems like a competition to see how edgy they can get with the sexualization of the culture.  What faithful Catholic wants to watch that?  “But the commercials are so funny, we have to watch half time!” some may say.  Well, as you know, the best commercials will be shared all over the internet, so don’t waste your precious time on junk.

Last year, Father Nathan was on a radio show and was talking about the culture and how far down it has fallen, and referenced the Super Bowl half time show.  When he finished that broadcast, we joked about how we should have Holy Half Time Show™ and doggone it, we did!  So here we are with Super Bowl Sunday coming up and Father will once again provide alternative programming so your family and friends can feel good about their half-time entertainment.  We hope you’ll join us!

Oh, and by the way, when you have players like Harrison Butker and coaches like Nick Sirianni, yes football can be holy!
