Father Nathan likes to give me credit for originating “A Date with Father Nate.” However, looking back to the day it originated, it wasn’t me and it wasn’t Father Nathan. The Holy Spirit was definitely at work. In February of 2017, I picked up Father Nathan from the airport. The drive gave me a chance to ask questions about evangelizing in the home, specifically in regard to the role of my husband, Wes. Father recommended that we both attend an annual retreat. What do I do well consistently? Where am I most active? Do I have any blocks? Without a doubt leadership is hard and challenging and sometimes we get so used to its challenge that we forget that we can make it successful. We learn to get used to the very things that can cause our downfall. But it doesn’t have to be this way. One of the big elements we struggle with as leaders is our ability to plan effectively - our ability to see our way through changing circumstances. This ability is impeded by what we call “fog”. And understanding “fog” is the key to overcoming it.
